Universal Boot is a leader in the design and supply of innovative and highly secure vehicle immobilization devices.
We serve customers in North America and almost every region on the globe. We primarily serve the following markets: Trucking and cargo theft prevention, Personal and corporate anti theft and Municipal and private parking enforcement.
Fernando Beaudoin founded Universal Boot in 1986, from Repentigny, Quebec after he had noticed many wheel immobilizers used in Montreal. He designed and offered his own innovative solution, and a unique, rugged aluminum alloy wheel boot was born. It fit on a very wide range of vehicles and outlasted every other product in the field. The new wheel immobilizer quickly gained success all over the United States.
With the Universal Boot Model 1 gaining new customers with cities, parking authorities, booting contractors and bailiffs of all kind, the company then turned to cargo security, and Universal Boot started offering the very first conical king pin lock in 1992, years before the competition. The Universal Boot model 8 king pin lock proved incredibly successful and helped the company develop an entirely new market, high security cargo theft prevention.
In 2002, the company moved its offices in Dorval, Quebec. With an ever increasing list of individuals and corporate customers as well as public administrations recognizing our expertise in security, the anti-theft segment took shape. The product line was diversified and additional staff members to serve the growing demand, most of whom are still with us today.
In 2017, new challenges await and the company is changing once again, with new staff members, a new product line in development and new leadership to complement the dedicated staff members who have always helped make Universal Boot a success.
